Obama's (Non) Accomplishments

Barack Obama has released a new 60 second ad touting his "legislative accomplishments" and I for one, could not wait to see the video. Considering Obama has come out of political obscurity, wouldn't it make sense to look at the man's voting history so we all have an idea of the direction he wants to take this nation? Much to the dismay of the democrats (socialists), Obama's record is very questionable indeed and has garnered the Senator from the Soviet satelite state of Illinois the distinguished title of "most liberal" in the U.S. Senate. His voting record is another example of his judgement, as is his sitting in a church for 20 years listening to hate speech from a pastor he credits as his biggest spiritual advisor. These are both logical and necessary questions if we are going to get to know this "savior" from the Democratic party.

The ad, which is called "The Country I Love", is playing in many key battle ground states. In it, Obama talks about "laws" he has passed as if he was the sole authority on the "law" and no other legislator had a vote. But truth be known, Obama only sponsored one of the three bills mentioned and perhaps what is the most striking is that two of the bills were "accomplishments" of his days in the Illinois senate and not the U.S. Senate. Yep, that's right, Obama couldn't even find "accomplishments" from his time in the U.S. Senate to talk about. In fact the only national law Obama could tout in the ad was a bill extending health care to troops, but Obama was neither a sponsor or co-sponsor of the bill, so why is he taking credit for it?

The fact is, we don't know very much about the Senator from Illinois. But anytime we start asking questions, we are the ones who are wrong for asking the questions. Obama doesn't have the extensive record in politics that Senator McCain has, so there is no track record of his policies and ideology. All we have are his words to go off of and quite honestly, they scare the hell out of me.
